Only Available in Blue

  • Here Elite Dragonfly is only available with a blue magnesium finish, likely due to HP’s effort to distinguish this new flagship laptop from the multiple.
  • Other silver and grey EliteBooks that it has offered in the past.

Multiple Display Options

Here HP offers three different screen choices for the Elite Dragonfly. All amount 13.3 inches diagonally and have touch support.

Easel Mode:

  • By the Elite Dragonfly’s starting weight of just 2.2 pounds, there’s no downside to having a 360-degree hinge in the circumstance you need it.

Write and Draw:

  • The rechargeable digital active stylus derives with some Elite Dragonfly configurations, offering the ability to write or draw on the touch display.

Click and Type:

  • Here touchpad’s hinge is crisp, and there’s no give when there shouldn’t be (i.e. when you’re tapping but not clicking).
  • Then best of all, the sensitivity is perfectly calibrated out of the box. The keyboard is equally satisfying.

USB Type-A:

  • The laptop’s left edge hosts a USB Type-A slot, a power button, and a receptacle for a physical security lock.

Full-Sized HDMI:

  • Here right edge features two USB Type-C ports that support Thunderbolt 3 speeds, a headphone jack and a full-sized HDMI output.

Fingerprint Reader:

  • Though there’s a fingerprint reader mounted on our review unit, you strongly prefer to use the face credit webcam to log in to Windows instead.

Easily Accessible Components:

  • Numerous of the laptop’s components, counting the storage drive, are easily accessible by laxation a few screws on the laptop bottom and then eliminating the bottom cover.

Performance

  • Because the HP Elite Dragonfly is only packed with 8th-Generation Whiskey Lake processors with vPro, it’s not the fastest Ultrabook out there. But it’s not exactly far behind, either.
  • We can go on at length about the lack of serious improvement generation-on-generation with Intel’s processors.
  • Still, the fact is that this laptop is more than fast enough for everything you’d reasonably throw at it.
  • Our benchmarks reproduce this, too. In Cinebench R20, the Dragonfly was talented enough to get respectable 1,059 points, which is great for such a portable device.
  • As more impressive is that in the Geekbench4 single-core test, the Dragonfly out-performs many gaming laptops.
  • It counted 5,266 points in this test, likened to the Alienware M15’s 4,995. That’s non a giant difference, of course, but we’re still impressed that the HP Elite Dragonfly can keep up in this way.
  • By 16GB of RAM, the HP Elite Dragonfly is more than fast enough to keep up with our manic Chrome tab habits, even during an event like CES.
  • We curse at one point we had like 100 tabs open on this thing, and it just kept chugging along.
